One way to power up more than one guitar pedal is to use a daisy chain power supply.
So you are building up your collection and now have 5 pedals, do you really need 5 power supplies?
No, but you must add up the total mA of your pedals to use a daisy chain and have a suitable mains power supply that exceeds that total.
The Ma is the current that the pedal draws from the power supply. Typically a pedal is 100mah, but this varies, so always check. Do not plug it in and see what happens.
Don’t ever plug a power supply adapter with th..

I also get asked about IR files, particularly as a couple of our products use IR files. It makes sense for me to try and explain in basic terms what an IR file is, why you might be interested in using one.
With guitar pedals you have analog and digital. IR files are used in digital pedals, we are taking a digital snapshot of audio. When you use a preset on a computer, you load it in right?.. That is a the principal of the IR file.
On the JOYO Cab Box it simulates different guitar cabinets/speaker types & Microphones. In order to recreate these sounds, we have 'recorde..
I often get asked what the difference is between these 2 delay guitar effect pedal types. There are basically two kinds of JOYO delay pedals available:
1. Analog delay effect pedals
2. Digital delay effect pedals.
>> View all the JOYO Delay pedals.
Both have their strengths, good for doing different things, they are great on guitar, bass or acoustic. If you can plug it in then anything can be used with delay. The delay is without doubt at home on a guitarist’s pedalboard, every electronic instrument, studio, singer must have o..

I have been meaning to write this article for years, in fact I started it and never got around to finishing it, because it can be a complex issue that can send you off on tangents. So I thought I would lay down some info here and then probably update it.
I wanted to share some of my tips to help identify and remove some noise from your guitar rig and guitar effect pedal board. Quite often I get asked why a guitar effect pedal board might be noisy. It is pretty hard to diagnose by email without being there with you. With everything like this, there is a cause and an effect (no pun intended)..
Let’s face it 2020 has been a right nightmare for anyone involved in the UK music industry. It has been a tough year for everyone, the Covid struggle has been very damaging for the entire world, it has officially sucked big time.
The live audiences, music venues & our high street music retailers were all forced to stop dead in their tracks, with no sign of opening, the factory ran out of (some) components which was a bit of a mare, the post was delayed, but thankfully the music making hasn’t stopped. Nothing will stop music from happening we are all working hard to..
A guitar effect pedal is an electronic device that alters the sound of a musical instrument or other audio source through audio signal processing. It's a magic box of tricks that will allow you to change the sound of your audio, or guitar.
If you are new to guitar or guitar effects then you might be wondering what a guitar effect pedal actually does. Hopefully we can help answer that question for you.
The most common form of guitar effect is distortion & overdrive, these guitar effects are often used with electric guitar in electric blues..
What order do I put my guitar effect pedals in?
The order you would put your pedals in for your guitar are grouped together and put into the following order :
>> Dynamics – including Compressors, Volume, Wah & Pitch
>> Drive – Including Overdrive, Distortion & Fuzz
>> Modulation – includes Tremolo, chorus, flanger, phaser etc.
>> Delay – Delay and reverb, the spatial effects.
It’s important to remember pedals do not really go wrong, or will they stop working if you put them i..
The JOYO Bantamp range use a single 12ax7 tube in the preamp, it is likely at some point you might need to change the tube in your amp.
Unfortunately a tube is not covered in any guitar amp warranty, it is regarded as a consumable as they do not have a definite life span and can burn out, but generally preamp tubes or valves they will last a long time. Preamp tubes do not need to work as hard as a power amp tube, but they can fail at any time.
So how do you know if you need to change your preamp tube your JOYO Bantamp ?
Some of the most common signs that tubes need replacement are a c..

This is a lengthy guide I keep coming back to update as the topic gets covered a lot in online forums, I do get asked lot of questions about powering guitar effects. Mind you it is pretty important, getting it right all these different modular components trying to work together in unison.
First, there are a number of ways to power your guitar effects and the method you use can make a difference to your whole experience of playing electric guitar.
Making sure you have the right power supply will ensure your pedals actually come on, prevent them from getting damaged, or..
Many guitar effect pedals can be powered by a battery which can reduce the number of wires in your pedalboard and make it more convenient to travel around with. The JOYO guitar effect pedals in Series 1, series 2 and Dr.J pedals can all be powered by a battery for convenience and often cited as a reason for buying.
There are downsides to using batteries over a steady decent power supply, you have no idea what power you have left, if you use the wrong type of battery you do not get a satisfactory performance, finally we have an environmental impact to consider.
